Manufactured in August 2017, numbers were hard to dial, after a year several numbers stopped working. Whirlpool Customer service basically said i need to trash it and they did not take any responsibility. Poor quality brand

Broke nine months - WP won't fix

We bought this product from a big box store along with a number of other kitchen appliances as part of a kitchen renovation. We purchased in February but it wasn't installed until the final phase in August. It started having control panel issues about 8 months after it was installed ( but past the original purchase date of one year). I contacted whirlpool to explain that it had been installed and in use less than one year and had the records to prove it, but they were indifferent and said they could only honor the warranty based on the purchase date. So now I have a cabinet installed microwave barely in use for a year with half the buttons not working. I tried to find parts to replace the control panel and couldn't locate anything. So very disappointed in Whirlpool for not honoring a warranty plus no parts available for replacement. I have had a great experience with Whirlpool products over the years, but apparently the same quality no longer exists.

This was installed my builder as part of the house we bought just over a year ago.
Just tried it the other day for the second time and most of the keys do not work.
Removed power overnight the turned back on. Did not fix the issue.
Builder will not honor the warranty and your warranty is also over.
Sad that a product used only once has failed.

Builder installed and broken in 3rd year.. when I called whirlpool they said diode needs to be replaced.. it would cost couple of dollars but they need $120 for replacing diode. I am wondering if they do put these parts on purpose. Also, why do they sell this as in built product where as it is recommended for countertop...

This microwave is only 4.5yrs old and has already stopped working 3x. I repaired it the first 2x. Now, when I called Whirlpool to replace a 3rd time, the representative said that the part is no longer replaceable/repairable, so I have to replace it? Really, after only 4.5 years and it already stopped working 3x, and Whirlpool will not stand behind their product, which is a little frustrating. Obviously it is a lemon. But the problem now got worse because the model is out of stock and I cannot find anyone that carries it. So I have to look at purchasing a new model, however when you do that, you also have to replace the cutout or trimkit that goes around it as it sits in your kitchen cabinet. That is another $150 on top of new microwave price. But...the new trimkits and microwave are not the same dimensions as the oven they match (below the microwave). Now, not sure what to do because of course I want the appliances to be uniform and match. What a mess. Sure wish Whirlpool would offer some type of assistance to help me figure it out, considering I purchased an entire whirlppool appliance package in my new home. So far, no luck.

We had this MW oven installed by the builder and it is broken now just into the 3rd year. It would not heat the food, even though it powers up and still runs for the time set. Very disappointed with an appliance going bad just in its 3rd year.

We bought this counterpot microwave to replace an older built in. It fits perfectly and looks great but within months it started to shoot sparks. So we had Whirlpool replace it which they did. Now the second one is shooting sparks and since it's 2 months past warranty Whirlpool refuses to replace it. I would NEVER buy this again. Never. The amount of time and money it has taken is not worth it.

We've had Whirlpool microwaves for the past 20 years (possibly longer, but at this point I can't remember what was in our house 20 years ago). We've been happy with all of them. This one is no exception. It is very quiet and does a good job of heating things quickly. The only thing I'm not happy about is that the installers didn't get it set up so that the door stays open when you open it. It's a little tricky to open the door and then grab what I want to put in it before the door swings closed. This is purely an installation issue, though (it's built into a cabinet in our new kitchen). The microwave itself works great.

We have had this microwave for less than 3 years and all of a sudden it stopped working. We opened it up and the fuse was blown. Easy fix. We changed out the fuse only for it to blow out again and again. Has to be something more complex. But the question is do we pay for someone to look at it or is it cheaper to buy a new one? A microwave that has been well taken care of should not go bad this quickly. So disappointed and worried to buy another whirlpool appliance. Our ovens, stove and fridge are all whirlpool, so at this point, we are just holding our breath.

This unit came built in with a new home purchase. Within a year there was a burn spot near the magnetron but it still worked so we did not report it. Now, the unit makes a loud buzzing with visible flame inside and smoke coming from inside. Because it's built in we had to order another from Amazon since it's not available at retail. We just bought a new $600 Whirlpool dishwasher to replace the existing unit to match the decor which is not cleaning. I realize things break, but I would be careful choosing the Whirlpool brand to outfit your new home as this is two strikes for us.

I bought all whirlpool appliances when we built our home. So far, my microwave has broken. It will not heat food. And my dishwasher has been repaired 3 times. The motor had to be replaced and a seal on the door. I've lived in my house for 8 weeks.... poor customer service as well.

This is the replacement of the original that arrived and never worked, so this is number 2. This microwave has been used lightly and gently, because no heavy cooking is done by microwave and due to frequent travel, the house is unoccupied about 70% of the year. This model has a metal panel inside, while heating coffee in a mug this panel suddenly started to spark and when turned off we discovered it has a hole about dime size, the drink and the container where burned because sparks got thru the hole. a lightning show happens when you press start. It is scary. Of course we stopped all use immediately. Called to see if we could purchase the metal plate to replace it, as the unit itself is almost new, but this piece is not sold separately, so we are told we have to buy a new unit. By the way the young lady who assisted us on the phone was very nice and courteous.

It works, but very noisy and how the door button operates is not the best either. Hard to push button moves the microwave as you push in on it. Cabnit vibrates causing the noise.

Microwave has been great. We added it as a wall unit with trim kit over our wall oven. My only complaint is that it shows a lot of finger prints. Outside of that minor inconvenience it has performed well and looks great.

I am not sure what the problem was but after getting 3 Microwaves I have given up on this particular one. I have always loved my whirlpool and Kitchen aide appliances but this one just had it problems. 1st it was damaged in shipment. 2nd it was not working. 3rd this one was too hard to open.

We bought this microwave a year and a half ago. It is making a horrible noise and I am afraid to use it. Since it is not covered under the year warranty they will not replace it. We paid $259 for it so we felt it would last a long time. A year in a half is not a long time. I spoke to a few people in customer service, customer retention and beyond I was politely told sorry we will not replace it. To my ears I heard sorry we do not stand behind our product. I was offered a discount which was nice however for such a large company I felt they could have done more.

I barely use the microwave. This microwave came as part of my brand new house, and with minimal usage it stops working. It does not heat the food anymore. It sounds, and looks like its working but no matter how long you put the time for, the food is still ice cold. Disappointing

Just recently, when I push the start button, the digital timer starts but the microwave does not turn on. After a few times of this occurring it will come on and work perfectly. Then it will happen intermittently. I wonder if it's worth repairing or what could be wrong. It's only 3 years old. I really like this product and it fits my built in space. I'll buy another one if necessary.

I have owned this product for over two years now. It's way more hassle than it's worth and my unit is almost complete garbage. As with the previous reviewer I have door problems where I must hold the door button and open the door with my other hand. It also will say I can put in the cook time and the lcd says "door" then I must play with the door to fix it. It also randomly shuts off... a lot! This is my fourth time in two years this unit has become unusable it was under warranty and was fixed three times before. My model number is WMC30516AS0 serial number XV62701680.
I gave it two stars because the warranty folks at least could get parts to fix it. And during the time it did work properly it did do it's job.

I already had a G E 1.6 cubic foot 1150 watt white microwave, but this one was much betty looking and matched the other Whirlpool appliances I purchased (stove top, refrig., & oven. The door on this new microwave is a little harder to open and requires pushing the button harder which moves the whole microwave. The other microwave would beep 3 times when done and stop sooner when door opened, or again every minute or so until the door was opened to remove the food. This one beeps 5 times (a little annoying). You can stop it by pressing cancel, an extra step. There is no reminder beep to remove food. The reminder helped. This one also cost almost twice as much as the other. Had I not like the looks, I would not have bought it.
I really like the way it looked, and it cooks a little faster than the other one.

New Microwave for a new house. It has some nice features and cooks and heats rapidly. The price was OK. But, It feels tinny and too metallic, like it needs a pad underneath or insulation. I'll try these things next. Been too busy doing higher priority things. Also, the glass tray wobbles. it doesn't sit flat on the rollers.
